Chuck haggard
”The legendary lawman”
Chuck Haggard spent nearly 36 years in urban law enforcement, retiring as a Lieutenant from the Topeka Police Department after a distinguished career that included roles as Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Leader, Armorer, and Watch Commander. He also served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1985 to 1998.
Though retired from active duty, Chuck maintains his POST certification and remains active in the law enforcement community. He now focuses on private-sector instruction, training law enforcement, military, security professionals, and responsible citizens in the art of personal defense.
He is certified as both a civilian and law enforcement instructor in pistol, shotgun, carbine, rifle, OC spray, and empty-hand techniques including weapon retention and disarming. Chuck holds advanced credentials such as Tactical Anatomy Shooting with X-Ray Vision Instructor, Rangemaster Defensive Shotgun Instructor, and Rangemaster Basic, Advanced, and Master Pistolcraft Instructor.
Over the years, he has trained with respected programs including the Lethal Force Institute, Israeli Shooting International, SureFire Institute, Glock Academy, Safariland, and HK’s International Law Enforcement Training Conference, among others. He also holds NRA certifications and is a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
Chuck has served as a national trainer for the National Law Enforcement Training Center and as an adjunct instructor with Strategos International, Hardwire Tactical, and Survival Operations Systems. Known for his depth of experience and practical approach, he remains committed to preparing today’s defenders to meet real-world threats with confidence and skill.
