Defensive Firearms & Tactics Instructor
Steve Moses is a nationally respected defensive firearms and tactics instructor with over 30 years of experience training responsible citizens, law enforcement professionals, and security teams. He serves as a contributor and tactical advisor for both the Firearms Trainers Association and CCW Safe, where his work helps shape best practices in armed defense education and instructor development.
Steve is a certified Tactical Anatomy Shooting with X-Ray Vision Instructor and holds Rangemaster certifications in Basic, Advanced, Master, and Professional Pistolcraft, as well as Defensive Shotgun. He is a former Texas Department of Public Safety Level Four Personal Protection Instructor and has earned additional instructor credentials in Red Dot Pistol Fundamentals, Empty Hand Knife Defense, OC/Less Lethal, Small Impact Weapons, Active Shooter Response, and Force-on-Force training.
Steve’s real-world experience includes serving as a Deputy Constable and operating as a member of a multi-precinct Special Response Team, where he was involved in high-risk operations requiring precise execution under pressure. He also spent eight years as the shift lead for an 8-man church security team at a large Dallas/Fort Worth-area mega-church, providing leadership in a complex, high-traffic security environment.
Known for his methodical approach and deep well of tactical knowledge, Steve brings clarity and confidence to his instruction. His passion lies in preparing students to make sound decisions and take effective action in life-threatening situations. Whether teaching in the classroom or on the range, Steve is committed to helping others develop the mindset, skills, and judgment necessary to protect themselves and others responsibly.
